History of Franking Machines
The first postal franking machine was developed by Pitney Bowes in the 1920's. The first machine was sold in the UK from 1922 by agents UPF Ltd. In 1924/25 British Neopost Ltd began selling their new machine called Neopost. Following from then only Pitney Bowes, Neopost and Roneo Alcatel were the largest of manufacturers. There are other suppliers such as IMS Franking, and CPS Mailing UK.
If you're looking to buy a franking Machine on eBay don't bother as only authorised suppliers can offer franking machines.
